Guides

Everything you need to survive, trade and dominate on EXODIS β€” from first spawn to endgame.

First hour roadmap

From beach spawn to stable run

If you are brand new to EXODIS, follow this sequence before chasing fights, bases or air drops.

01

Stabilise the spawn

Bandage if needed, drink early, and loot the nearest sheds or houses for a blade, extra rags and food.

02

Move inland with intent

Avoid lingering on the coast. Fresh-spawn chaos is loud, under-looted and usually one bad decision away from a corpse run.

03

Cash in at a trader

Sell early valuables for server currency, learn safe-zone boundaries and keep your reputation climbing instead of burning it on reckless kills.

04

Pick your long game

Decide whether you are chasing a base, a vehicle, a reputation grind, or event loot β€” then route your gear around that goal.

🌱

Getting Started

You spawn on the coast with basic supplies. Prioritise water, a cutting tool and a route inland before the coast turns into a murder documentary.

  • Use your starting map to orient immediately and commit to a direction.
  • Loot houses, sheds and barns for knives, rope materials and food.
  • Avoid overfighting on the coast; inland towns are safer and better stocked.
  • Wells are your best early hydration stop before longer inland travel.
  • Your first milestone is a safe trader visit with something worth selling.

PvP & Combat

Current core settings enforce first-person aiming (`Use3rdPersonWhileAiming = false`). Every fight is a risk: death means losing what you carry.

  • Zero your scope for range β€” default is 100m.
  • Aim for centre mass; legs slow, chest kills.
  • Use terrain and buildings for cover β€” first-person aiming cuts down peeking abuse.
  • Movement penalties apply while injured, so treat wounds early before rotating.
  • Bandit status starts below -500 reputation and can trigger trader guard hostility.
  • Treat combat logging and exploit relogs as bannable admin-policy behavior.

Trading & Economy

Currency is physical (coin/nugget/bar classes). There are 3 configured trader camps, and sell-back is set to 50% of buy price.

  • No ATM banking is enabled in current market settings β€” currency is physical.
  • Trader safe zones are active with a 100m radius around each trader camp.
  • Stary Military Trader requires non-bandit reputation (`RequiredReputation = 0`).
  • Hardline reputation: player kill -100, bandit kill +50, quest base reward +150, trade +5.
  • Bandit threshold is -500 and hero threshold is +500.

Base Building

Territory HQ building is enabled with a 50m radius and a 150-object cap. Raiding and lockpicking are both enabled in current settings.

  • Building outside your territory is disabled.
  • Building near traders is blocked within a 150m exclusion radius.
  • Minimum distance between territory flags is 20m.
  • Refresh frequency is every 3 days; decay is set to 45 days.
  • Use layered defense anyway β€” config helps, but players still raid.
🎯

Reputation Grind

Hardline reputation drives bandit/hero identity and trader behavior. Every player kill costs 100 reputation, and only some trader access is rep-gated.

  • Kill players: -100 rep.
  • Kill bears: +50 rep.
  • Trade transactions: +5 rep each.
  • Quest completion base reward: +150 rep (plus quest-specific rewards).
  • Bandit below -500, Hero above +500; reputation persists through death in current settings.

Vehicles & Transport

Ground vehicles spawn across Chernarus. Secure your vehicle ownership, conceal parked assets, and buy replacement parts at traders to keep moving.

  • Create and protect vehicle keys as soon as you claim a car.
  • Use concealment options when parking long-term to reduce discovery risk.
  • Check engine, wheels, fuel and battery before driving far.
  • Spare parts are sold at most trader zones.
  • Vehicles are key-based (`VehicleKeyEnabled = true`) and can be hotwired at 25% chance, so park and secure smartly.

Companion Dogs

Dogs are mobile utility companions that improve awareness, scouting and survival tempo when managed correctly.

  • Treat your dog as an early warning system: slow down before compounds and let it help spot danger.
  • Keep food and medical supplies ready so your companion stays useful on longer routes.
  • Avoid charging loud hotspots with your dog if you cannot control the fight timing.
  • Use dogs for short-range scouting, then reposition before hard engagements.
  • If your run turns chaotic, prioritise safe extraction over forcing a fight with your companion exposed.

Events & High-Risk Loot

Airdrops, care packages, loot chests and contaminated zones pull players from all over the map. Go prepared or go home lighter.

  • Expect third parties at airdrops β€” patience often beats first contact.
  • NBC gear is mandatory for contaminated zone runs.
  • Carry spare meds and extra stamina food before event pushes.
  • Treat every event like a broadcast of your location to the rest of the server.
  • Leave with enough inventory space to actually profit from the risk.
🧰

Crafting & Utility

The server’s crafting systems reward players who improvise. A rope, splint or suppressor at the right time is sometimes worth more than a rifle.

  • Turn common junk into field tools instead of waiting for perfect loot.
  • Keep rags, sticks, bones and duct tape β€” they are utility gold.
  • Crafting is strongest when it saves a trip back to town.
  • Medical and fishing recipes stretch bad loot runs into survivable ones.
  • Check the recipes page before you bin β€œuseless” materials.
